    In an effort to ensure nearly every aspect of Onimusha is known well in advance of its release, Capcom has updated the game's homepage with details on the second playable character. At certain points in the story players will have to switch to Kaede, a female ninja.

   Though Kaede isn't nearly as powerful as the game's lead, Samanosuke, and doesn't have access to his magic abilities, she makes up for it in speed and maneuverability. In addition to the normal defense and evasion, Kaede will be able to execute a backward somersault and even jump over enemies to attack from behind. The female ninja's arsenal will also focus more on thrown weapons and small blades.

   Capcom has yet to reveal exactly what role Kaede will play in Onimusha's story. Hopefully, gamers will get the chance to find out themselves when the game is released in the US sometime in January. In the meantime, check out 10 screenshots of Kaede in action.
