Skies of Arcadia VMU downloads available

    In an innovative use of the Dreamcast's connectivity, Sega has begun offering new downloads for its epic RPG, Skies of Arcadia. The new features can be accessed via the homepage option on disc 1's title screen. Once connected to the homepage, users can download two updates, with a third expected to be made available on December 12.

    The first update gives access to the Hamachou Island, in the Dark Rift area. Indigenous to the island are bird-like creatures as well as the Hamachou hermit, who lists extra game stats such as the number of battles won and how many treasures found. Completists should also be interested to know that the last Cham in the game is found on this island. Another file available gives you access to a "Giant Looper" airship battle in the North Frontier, north of Gordo's Bistro. A victory is said to yield an important item.
