Digicube announces new Final Fantasy IX soundtrack disc

[10.10.00] » New tracks rumored to include Uematsu's self-produced karaoke-remix of P.O.D.'s "Rock the Party."

Digicube has confirmed plans to release a supplemental version of the Final Fantasy IX soundtrack in the form of an extra disc. Many fans were upset to learn that the original Final Fantasy IX OST wasn't a complete collection of the music in Square's latest title, despite the 4 CD length. Songs considered to be less-important, such as brief songs played during FMV sequences, were left off the soundtrack to conserve space.

These songs have been collected for release on a separate CD in Japan on December 6th, thought they are unlikely to see any U.S. release considering Tokyopop's compilation version that goes on sale domestically on November 13th. Unconfirmed rumors suggest that Capcom, feeling one-upped by the Square's incremental new strategy, have begun development a version of Resident Evil 2 that includes new disc art.
