Koei unveils Kessen 2

[09.09.00] » War just got prettier.

Months after confirming the development of Kessen 2 for the PlayStation 2, Koei officially unveiled the game and supplemental details. Details are still sketchy, but it is known that the game's setting is during another sengoku period in Japan's history. According to the game's producer, Kou Shibusawa, Kessen 2's concept will be "more dynamic and more dramatic."

The new "battle control system" promises more control for troop deployment and monitoring. With the more sophisticated engine, Shibusawa also announced that the number of soldiers displayed simultaneously has increased to 500, five times that of its predecessor. New to the battle system are magical attacks, the exact nature of which have yet to be confirmed. Lastly, a new natural disaster system that includes tornados, earthquakes and lightning storms was announced. Kessen 2 is scheduled for release this winter in Japan.
