Samba de Amigo, maracas controllers get prices

[08.17.00] » No, you don't want to know how much the maracas will cost.

Sega recently announced that their maraca-shaking rhythm game, Samba de Amigo, would be hitting North American stores on October 18 for a mere $39.99. Fans of music games might be overjoyed at the title's price, but that joy will undoubtedly turn to terror as they see the price of the optional (but almost necessary) maraca controller: $79.99 for one set of maracas. Gamers who are quick on the math will realize that for two players to play with the maracas exactly $199.97 (SRP) will need to be coughed up (and that is without tax and gas money figured in, and assuming that you already own a Dreamcast).

Gamers are advised to start saving for the game and controllers now, though. The GIA had the Japanese version of the game with a set of maracas in their E3 hotel room, and it was a huge success, to say the least. If you're still hesitant after seeing those pictures, you can rest assured that the GIA will have a review of the game when it is released.
