Sega developer SmileBit (formerly known as AM6) has just announced Hundred Swords, a new real-time strategy game for the Dreamcast. Hundred Swords will allow for four players to adventure on the same Dreamcast, as well as supporting the Dreamcast's built-in modem for online conquest. Players will assume command over one of four warring parties in a middle-ages environment, depicted by the four logos and character sketches below.

Having reached a new level of notoriety with Jet Set Radio (renamed Jet Grind Radio in the U.S.), SmileBit claims that Hundred Swords will be able to manage 400 units simultaneously in real-time, permitting unprecedented melee battles. Interestingly, the game is planned to make an appearance in Japanese arcades before being ported to Dreamcast, an unusual step for a real time strategy game. No release date has yet been announced.
