Final Fantasy IX's Japanese release date moves forward

[05.17.00] » Better have your import funds ready a little bit earlier than planned.

Formerly set to be released in Japan on July 19th, Square has moved the release for their summer blockbuster, Final Fantasy IX, up to a July 7th release date. Combined with the most recent delay of Dragon Quest VII to August 26th, Square and Enix are no longer looking to have the "Clash of Titans" battle between their flagship titles that many people were speculating. Although the titles will surely be compared to each other frequently, the direct sales competition shouldn't be as much of a concern for Square and Enix now.
