E3: Dragon Warrior I & II impressions
[05.12.00] » It's two, two, two games in one!
Dragon Warrior I and II were on display at Enix's booth and fully playable. While both games were originally released for the Nintendo Entertainment System, the Game Boy Color versions feature many of the enhancements found in the Super Nintendo versions (such as more unique graphical tiles, the simplifications of menu interactions, etc). The Game Boy versions also feature new opening cinematics and a new translation. This new translation is true to the Japanese version and has been designed with the reduced size of the Game Boy screen in mind. Enix also said that the game is backwards compatible with regular Game Boy units.
Dragon Warrior I+II will ship in the third quarter of 2000 on a single cartridge. Gamers looking for a quality portable RPG will be twice blessed.
