Square announces Final Fantasy X demo

    Square has announced plans to begin the testing of their Play Online gaming network during fall 2000. Aiming to hit two birds with one stone, Square plans to go about Play Online testing by releasing a playable demo of Final Fantasy X with online support ready to go. Surprisingly, the demo is set to be released for both the PS2 and PC, meaning that unless the X in "Final Fantasy X" was a typo for "XI", Square may be preparing a PC port of Final Fantasy X. While a PC port itself wouldn't be surprising, considering that Final Fantasy VII and VIII were both ported, it is surprising that Square would ne working on both the PC and PS2 versions at the same time.
