Famitsu confirms Nobuo Uematsu as Final Fantasy IX composer

   As first reported last June, series composer Nobuo Uematsu will again be returning to score Final Fantasy IX -- a none-too-surprising move, as Uematsu already scored every previous Final Fantasy game, as well as the Square Millennium trailer of FF IX. The confirmation, which came in the most recent issue of Japan's Weekly Famitsu magazine, permanently lays to rest unsubstantiated rumors of Uematsu's replacement with Ryuichi Sakamoto or another composer.

   Look for an updated preview of Final Fantasy IX with new artwork later today.
