Capcom cancels Resident Evil for GBC

[03.14.00] » "We don't believe in needless milking of franchises" say the creators of Mega Man Soccer.

With companies becoming less leery of porting 32 bit titles to the Game Boy Color, few were surprised to learn that Capcom was slated to bring Resident Evil to the GBC. Capcom had recently delayed the title, saying it needed vast improvement before it would be considered for release. It's now being reported, however, that Capcom has decided to cancel the port all together. The main reason given for the cancellation was that they didn't feel the GBC could deliver enough power to live up to Resident Evil's reputation. While it should be noted that this wasn't an official announcement, the story was said to come from a trusted source inside Capcom.
