New details on Breath of Fire IV

[03.17.00] » A new look at the game's combo system and party members. (Potential spoilers within.)

Capcom has revealed more of Breath of Fire IV's new combo system, and the result bears an odd resemblance to the card game Uno. Moves can be linked into a combo based on which of the four elements (earth, air, fire, and water, of course) they are associated with. Moves of identical element work together (Fire, Fire, Fire, for example), as do moves that follow a circular sequence of elements (Fire moves link to Wind, Wind links to Water, Water links to Earth, and Earth links to Fire). The benefits of creating combos still isn't clear, though it will likely just be a means of increasing the damage you deal.

Also new is the revelation that silver-haired party member Fou Lu also belongs to the Brood, meaning that players will have two different characters that can transform into dragons -- a Breath of Fire first.

29 new screenshots of Breath of Fire IV are also available.
