Working Designs has come to be synonymous with pack-in bonuses for its games. Alundra sported a holographic cover, while Lunar: Silver Star Story took things up a notch with the inclusion of a hardbound manual, soundtrack CD, "Making Of" disc, and pungent cloth map. For their latest project, however, no idea suggested at the brainstorming sessions seems to have been discarded.
In addition to the three-disc game itself, the package will include all the bonuses seen in Lunar: SSS--hardbound booklet, soundtrack, movie disc, and (paper) map--with some new items thrown in, such as statistics on the back of the map, arranged and extended songs on the OSV, four character standees, and a "gold" replica of Lucia's pendant. (We assume it's merely gold-plated, or the package would be prohibitively expensive.)
But that's not all. In a delightful display of corporate derangement, Working Designs today announced that those who put down a $20 deposit on pre-orders at participating retailers, such as EB World, Funcoland, Babbage's/Software Etc., and Working Designs themselves, will get the craziest promotional item ever. Lovingly designed by Toshiyuki Kubooka, painstakingly crafted by model experts Heavy Gear, you'll know your Ghaleon punch doll is high quality by the signed tag inside every wonderful unit. Two levered buttons inside the puppet control the punching action, one for each fist. Because of all these extra treasures, the game is now expected in June/July and will retail for $69.99--but your plastic pal will be worth it! We hope.
