Samba de Amigo Dreamcast version details
[03.08.00] » Come for the salsa music; stay for the Whack-a-Mole.
Sega of Japan recently revealed new information about the home version of Samba de Amigo. The Dreamcast conversion will offer four modes of play: arcade mode, challenge mode, original mode, and party mode. Arcade mode is just like the arcade, while Challenge mode lets you challenge a series of songs at five difficulty levels to unlock a new song. Original mode features the three new songs for the Dreamcast, as well as the ability to download new songs. How new songs will be stored has yet to be revealed.
Most exciting, however, is the new Party mode, which lets you compete against a friend. Party mode itself has three sections: a Battle mode, where you direct challenge each other, and a Love-Love mode, where the game tests you and your partner for compatibility, based on the similarity of your Maracas shaking technique.
Party Mode finishes off with a set of five minigames. Mole Panic lets you use the maracas to play whack-a-mole. Pose & Pose asks that you strike a pose and hold it for as long as possible. Monkey Replay asks you to memorize and repeat a rhythm. Also present are Power Rush and Speed Judgement, two games we know little to nothing about.
