Falcom announces Sorcerian for Dreamcast

[01.25.00] » Famed action RPG developer officially returns to console development.

A recent report in Sega's Dream Information magazine revealed that Nihon Falcom has begun work on its first Dreamcast title: Sorcerian. To be published by Victor Interactive, the title marks Falcom's long-awaited return to console development. (Popful Mail and the Ys series are two of the company's most well-known works.)

However, it's not exactly clear what Falcom plans with Sorcerian. It could be a port of the recently-released PC remake of the 1987 original, or a completely new Sorcerian game. With the company's development efforts still largely focused on the PC market, the former seems like the most possibility -- but the full story will have to wait until additional details are released.
