Pikachu Genki de Chu officially announced for U.S. release

[01.13.00] » Nintendo bestows a new name and release date upon the Nintendo 64 Pokémon game.

   As reported several times in the past, the wacky, Marigul-developed Pikachu Genki de Chu is headed Stateside. Nintendo of America today finally announced its localization of the Nintendo 64 game; the English version will be titled Pikachu VRS -- "VRS" being the name of the included voice-recognition system -- and should arrive just in time for the 2000 holiday season.

   In Pikachu VRS, gamers to communicate with Pikachu through the microphone and try to goad him into performing various tasks. A full look at the game can be found in the GIA's comprehensive preview.
