Alundra 2 US changes

[01.10.00] » Activision announces a number of new features added to the North American release of its puzzle-filled Alundra sequel.

Activision, the North American publisher of Contrail's Alundra sequel, Alundra 2, today announced that it has added two new features to the game for its US release. The company plans to add two difficulty levels in the game from which to choose, in order to offer a more challenging experience for veteran players. As well, Activision has included a new opening movie to further flesh out the game's backstory. The additions are reminiscent of publisher Working Designs, which prides itself on the features added to most of its localization projects -- including the original Alundra.

Alundra 2, like its predecessor, is a puzzle-filled action RPG, but is developed with an isometric 3D gameplay engine instead of the original's top-down sprite world. The game stars a spunky young lad named Flint who ventures about the Kingdom of Varuna, seeking to end the evil reign of a baron who has captured the king and overthrown the kingdom. Alundra 2 remains on track for a release sometime in the spring.
