Omikron Dreamcast port announced

[12.07.99] » Eidos' surreal adventure title returns to the console world, with a sequel in the works as well.

According to videogames.com, Quantic Dream is currently working on a Dreamcast version of its Eidos-published adventure title Omikron: The Nomad Soul. The Dreamcast port replaces the PlayStation release canceled several months ago, apparently due to the inability of the PlayStation hardware to handle the game's large environments.

As Omikron itself has already been completed and released for the PC last fall, completing the Dreamcast port is a relatively quick task -- Quantic Dream estimates that the port will ship in March or April.

And the series won't end with the Dreamcast port. Quantic Dream also revealed that it has begun development of a sequel to Omikron. No details were revealed about the sequel, however, not even a target release date or system.
