ITEMS TO GET: Iron Whip, Beam Coat
After some more scenes, you'll end up in the Gear Dock of
the Yggdrasil, Bart's sandship. Go to the northeast corner
and you'll find a small building. Inside is a Gear shop, where
you can upgrade your Gears (and don't forget to refuel them, too).
You may not be able to afford everything, but at least try to
upgrade Weltall, since it sees the most action. Items and
character equipment aren't that important in this game; most of
your money should go to upgrading your Gears.
Once you've finished your upgrades, exit the Gear Dock
and take the door to the north. To your left is the barracks,
where you can rest. The first door on the right is where you
can change characters (in the future), and the second door on
the right is the nurse's room, where you can see if your
characters are over- or underweight. The door at the end of
the hall is Maison's room, where you can buy items and weapons,
and save your game. In the northwest corner is the elevator,
which takes you up to the exit (the ladder) and the bridge
(south door), which holds another save point and Franz the
penguin, who plays random sound effects (whoopee). The bridge
is where you want to go; talk to Sigurd and you'll set "sail"
for Bart's hideout.
At the hideout, follow Maison to the dining room. He'll
give you a long speech about the history of the Fatimas, which
is interrupted by Bart. Bart invites you to go look at the
royal scrolls in the projection room with him, and he, Citan,
and Maison leave. Go out into the main hall (BTW, there's
a store in the dining room, but the stuff is inferior to what
you can get back on the Yggdrasil) and take the southeast
exit into Bart's room (just ignore the sign ^_^). Open the
chest for the Iron Whip, then take the northeast exit from
the main hall into the projection room. Talk to Bart and
he'll show you the Royal Scrolls. After that scene, go back
into the main hall and two kids will take the lift down. Leave
and come back, and the lift will be back again. Ride down
to the Yggdrasil and try to enter. Bart will hop out and
talk to you.
When all is said and done there, follow the girder along to
another elevator. Ride it down to the Gear hangar. If you
look around, you'll see Weltall and Brigandier, as well as
the currently pilotless Heimdal, and a generic Deurmod
(pirate Gear). Talk to the guy on the girders behind Weltall
and he'll tell you about the Gear's mysterious construction.
Sigurd then shows up and there's more dialogue in which Fei
is asked to help out Bart's band. Fei says he'll think about.
Head back to the main hall and take the northwest exit (the
door, not the passage leading outside) into the barracks.
Save, then talk to the guy closest to the door to rest.
Fei is awakened by an alarm. Head to the center lift
and ride it down to the Yggdrasil dock. The scene then
switches over to Bart and two Deurmods taking on one the
Gebler gears, Swordknight. Bart should just whatever Gear
Deathblows he has, while the Deurmods use X button attacks
(they don't have any Deathblows). You shouldn't have any
trouble winning.
Citan then takes command of the Heimdal to fight
Broyer's Aegisknight. It can use an attack that lowers
your armor value, but it's otherwise a wimp. Just use
X button attacks and Deathblows and it will go down quickly.
Citan and Bart then team up to fight two Wandknights.
Attack one until it's defeated (it should only take two
rounds), then take out the other.
Meanwhile, Fei finally comes to his senses and boards
the Weltall to fight Vance's Clawknight. Again, just use
X button attacks and Deathblows to defeat him. All three
of your characters then fight the Schpariel. It has more
HP than the others, but it still can't do much in the way
of damage. Beat it as you did the others and collect a
Beam Coat for your efforts.
Afterwards, Fei will agree to help Bart and Sigurd
rescue Margie (gosh, who would have expected that?). If
you watch closely, you'll notice that Sigurd's name is
misspelled in one of his lines.
