ITEMS TO GET: Golden Vest, ExecutorGown
You'll wind up in Merkava, with convient save and
character change points. Save the game right now, before
making any equipment modifications (so you have your
original equipment in case you screw up). Put Citan
and Maria in your party, then go east two screens to
find Johnny. Make sure all your current party members
the best Frame, then change all their engines to the
S50-6600 (because of its higher Fuel level) and their
armor to Z Alloy 60/25 (for ether defense). Equip
everyone with a Frame HP30 (not anything higher, they
use up too much Fuel!), Ether Ar+3 (Johnny sells
them), and some sort of Beam defense item (the
stronger the better, obviously).
Now, go north from the room you started and
you'll encounter Ramsus in a brand new Gear, Amphysvena
(maybe they meant "emphysema"?). After a lot of
dialogue, Ramsus attacks. The trick here is to
save fuel, because you'll need it for the battle
that's just after this one. Ramsus will start off
by using his Wave #3 Demiser to drop all your
characters to 1 HP. Have everyone use their Frame
HP to recharge, then start attacking. Weltall-2
should use System Id ONCE (any more will use up
too much Fuel) and the customary Kishins. You want
to save fuel, so don't use Boosters, and don't heal
(if someone dies, just reset). When he's almost
down, Ramsus will use Wave #3 Demiser again. Have
each character use their Frame HP again, then quickly
finish him off before he can hurt you. You'll win
a Golden Vest and 50,000 G, and then immediately fight
against Miang's Opiomorph.
This is THE toughest fight in the game. Miang's
defense will go up every time you hit her, and when
it gets high enough, she'll cast Wave #4 Devastator,
doing around 2500 damage to the party, and then reset
her stats. And after you do enough damage to her,
Miang's defense and Ether power will rise continually,
and she will cast Wave #4 Devastator on every turn...
ouch. Basically, what you want to do is have Weltall-2
use System Id and attack with Kishin (off course!).
The Opiomorph can only be hit with X button attacks
when its defense is at minimum (at the very start of
the battle, or just after it casts Wave #4 Devastator);
use them any other time and they will miss (so use
Square attacks instead). Healing takes precedence
over attacking -- after all, if you're dead, you can't
attack at all. The advantage to having weak frame HPs
is that you can heal without worrying about maxing
out your HP and thus wasting fuel. I can almost guarantee
this battle will take you several tries, but keep
trying and refining your strategy and you should
eventually manage to win (if anybody has any additional
tips for here, let me know), netting you a well-deserved
60,000 (or so) EXP and the Executor Gown armor.
