ITEMS TO GET: M Disk, O2 Cylinder, Mica, Gold Nugget, Ground
Fei awakens in a house in A Block. Hammer promptly
enters and announces his latest scheme: Fei should go
steal Kislev's new Goliath airship. He then asks to
talk to Elly for a moment (don't worry about this
scene, it's not important). Then head out of the
house and try to leave via the south exit. You'll be
stopped by three guards. Choose to stay and fight
(why are they making such a big deal out of three
wimpy guards?) and Rico will suddenly show up and
knock out the guards. He then joins you, and despite
his claim that he's only sticking with you until you
get outside the city, is now permanently in your
party.
Now that you've got Rico in your party, go to
the accessory shop, which has some new armor. Buy
a Hot Rod, Metal Jacket, and Metal Helmet for Elly,
and anything that would improve Rico's stats. Also,
go back into the alley where Big Joe ripped you off
earlier and search the end of it for the M Disk. If
you take this to the jukebox in the bar, you can play
some music.
Leave A Block (BTW, if you haven't noticed, D Block
is totalled; you can never go back). If you look
carefully, you'll see Big Joe nearby on the Kislev map
(he's hard to see 'cuz he blends in with the background).
If you talk to him, he'll tell you about the M Disk, and
also give you some "super muchacho information" -- you
can change your characters at the bar by talking to the
new waitress.
Outside, on the world map, you might want to take
some time to use the Super Muchacho Deathblow-Learning
Trick to help Elly and Rico learn some Deathblows. Elly
will also learn four new Ethers, one after each of her
first four fights. Also, don't forget to equip Elly's
Vierge with the Hot RodG that you bought in the Gear
dock.
When you're ready to get on with things, change
your party to Fei, Citan, and Rico (Elly, sad to say,
is just about useless) hop in your Gears and head
southeast until you get to the forest. Get out on
foot (Gears can't go through forests) and cross through
the forest, then get back in your Gears. Continue
north until you see a path through the mountains.
Head east through the pass, then go north. You'll
see the Goliath factory soon, it's the big gray door
embedded in the mountains (it's impossible to miss,
really).
First of all, you can ride your Gears in the
factory, so don't go anywhere on foot. Head west,
and take the first turn north. Keep going until
you come across Hammer in a repair bot Gear. Talk
to him and you can change characters (if you brought
Elly along by accident), and, more importantly, buy
a whole load of new Gear stuff. Pick up new frames
for Vierge and Stier, and the works for Heimdal
(armor, engine, frame). Also check out the gear
accessories; there might be something work picking
up. Finally, after upgrading your Gears, be sure to
refuel them to boost their HP to the new maximums
(and also for the fuel; you'll need every drop of
fuel you can get in here).
Say goodbye to Hammer (for now) and go north
into the next room. As you walk forward, you'll be
ambushed by three Harquebus Mk 10s, which are no
sweat -- one X-button attack each from Weltall and
Heimdal can probably take out one, and Stier can
handle one with one X-button attack. After beating
them, proceed forward a bit more to fight three
NeoMusha Mk100s. These are even easier; you can
take them out with a Square and an X attack. Keep
going north for the third fight, against two more
Harquebi. After defeating them, head through the
door into the next hallway.
You'll now start encountering random enemies;
they're the same ones you fought in the previous
room, except they're often accompanied by Engineers,
who will heal them. Generally, you should take
out the Gears first, since you can probably kill
them before the Engineers can do anything. When
fighting the Hatamoto Mk IIIs however, you should
take out the Engineers as the Hatamotos have quite
a bit more HP.
Follow the path along until you get to an
intersection. The south fork leads to a save point
(big whoop), the west one continues on. At the
next fork, go east and get the O2 Cylinder from
the chest, then go west and up. Pass through the
door into another large room. Here you'll have
to fight 2 Harquebi (oh no, scary), followed by
2 Hatamotos, who accompanied by two Engineers (a
bit tougher). After beating the Hatamotos, step
on one of the platforms and activate the blue light
to rise up onto the conveyor.
The conveyor belt will take you west into a
small room. Jump down and walk north under the
conveyor belt. Get out of your Gears, run to the
chest (Extra Ar +3), then run back and get in (if
you get into a fight while on foot, use Call Gear
to get back in your Gears). Now flick the yellow
switch in the southeast corner to reverse the
conveyor. Hop back on and ride east until you
reach the end of the belt.
There's three switches in this room; the one
that you want is the one that's underneath the
north-south conveyor belt (it's the only one that
you have to face west to push). Flick it, then jump
on the north-south conveyor and ride it to the next
room. Again, there's three switches here. Hit the
northwest one to make two chests appear (Mica and a
Gold Nugget), then save your game at the save point.
Go up to the black doorway on the east and hit X to
enter (for some reason, you have to press X, you can't
just walk through). You'll be taken to just outside
the Goliath, but before you can enter, you'll have to
fight the Fis-6.
Watch out; this fight is tougher than it looks.
Attack with regular attacks to start off with, and
try to converse fuel (i.e., don't use big fuel-sucking
Deathblows). Every so often, the Fis-6 will use Shift
Up to boost its stats. Once it gets tougher, break
out your Deathblows and start pounding on it. Eventually
it will overheat, and four Fis-6 Mechanics will appear.
This is where things get interesting. Not only do the
Mechanics attack you, they will also continually heal
the Fis-6. Leave it alone and concentrate on taking out
the Mechanics with Deathblows as fast as you can (they
have a lot more HP than regular Mechanics). Meanwhile,
the Fis-6 will cool off and start attacking as well.
Once this happens, use your level 2 (or 3, if you have
any) Deathblows to attack the Fis-6, while using your
generic "build up" attacks against the Mechanics. Of
course, all this is a huge drain on your fuel, so you're
going to have to do some serious Charging... remember,
you recharge more fuel the higher your Attack Level,
so build up, then Charge. Once you get rid of all
the Mechanics, you shouldn't have any trouble finishing
off the Fis-6. Victory nets you a tremendous amount of
experience, as well as a Ground (Gear accessory).
Once on board the Goliath, use a SurvivalTent at
the save point to heal -- you'll need it. Talk to
Elly, Hammer, and Rico, then go talk to Citan. He'll
ask you if you're ready to take off; choose "Yes"
(unless you need to change your equipment or something
first). The Goliath will take off away from Kislev,
only to be attacked by everyone's favorite sombrero-wearing
villain, Grahf. Fei, Elly, and Rico automatically
go to fight him on top of the plane.
Grahf will start off the battle by toasting you
with his Super Guided Shot, which does 2500-3500 damage,
depending on whom he hits. He then slips into mostly
physical attacks, which still take off about 1000 HP.
However, he almost exclusively attacks Fei (in fact, he
always seems to attack Fei when he's using physical
attack), which is the key to beating him. Just have
Fei use Frame HP 30 to recover his HP, while Rico and
Elly use X attacks on Grahf. It's not easy, but you
should be able to win. Then sit back and watch in
awe as Hammer demonstrates his MAD SKILLZ.
When you're back on the Goliath, save the game.
There's a lot of dialogue scenes coming up ahead, so
if you want to quit, you'd better do so now. Otherwise,
just go talk to Citan to begin the festivities.
