Prerequisites: Huntin' Du'Cate, The Dragon Princess
Return to the White Forest after defeating Vadise and you'll see a scene
in which Sotherbee assigns Skippie and Hamson to catch Lilipeas. After
the two henchmen leave, Sotherbee asks you to hunt for Lilipeas as well,
giving you the "Catchin' Lilipeas" quest.
Go southeast one screen (the exit is a bit difficult to see), south
another, and then southwest. Head west until you find Reverend Nouvelle
guarding an exit; speak with him and he'll ask you to help the threatened
Lilipeas.
Four separate Lilipeas must be aided. Continue west from Nouvelle's
station to an intersection, where you'll find a barrel. Free the Lilipea
trapped inside, then go east two screens to another intersection. Hamson
is chasing a Lilipea around here; talk to Hamson and distract him so
that the Lilipea goes free. Now go northwest, then west again, to find
a second barrel. Rescue the Lilipea inside, then return to where Hamson
was and go east until you find Skippie. Again, talk to him and the final
Lilipea will make its escape.
Once you've completed all four of these events, return to the screen
where Nouvelle was. (It's just southwest from where Skippie was.) After
another scene with Skippie and Hamson, you're free to enter the Lilipea
village. Talk to Nouvelle first, and he'll start translating for you,
enabling you to talk to the Lilipeas. Talk to a few of them and move to
the left. Nouvelle should follow you in that direction. Pull him all the
way across the village, then talk to the Lilipea elder. After a comical
sequence, you're assigned to defeat a monster threatening the Lilipeas.
The monster in question is the Hegs Ant, which is almost identical to
the Mantis Ant you fought back in Niccolo's Business Unusual -- except,
of course, that it has more HP. You shouldn't have any trouble
defeating. The Lilipea elder will reward you with either an Artifact
or metal for slaying it, and the quest ends.
Li'l Cactus' quote: "Pwa."
Cactus Diary:
"I wonder how the Lilipeas sing songs about peas? Peas! Peas! I'm a teeny-beany pea! Peas! Peas! I'm an itsy-bitsy pea! This could be a never ending song."
