Chapter 63 The Dark World More walkthrough

ITEMS TO GET: Elixir, Alpha Shiyatsu, Circlet, Moonstone, Ruby, Pisces Coin, Mini-Brahne

Disc 4 begins with a series of automated scenes in Black Mage Village, where the Terrans have taken up residence. The weapon shop and blacksmith offer some new gear; be sure to upgrade, as the final areas contain some difficult enemies. (You may need to go slaughter some enemies on the map to earn some extra cash -- the monsters on the world map are now all Molbols, Grand Dragons, and Kujya-monsters.)

You're also now in control of the Invincible, which is considerably easier to control than the old airship, and can also land on rough ground. However, Iifa's roots have overgrown many locations. Locations blocked off on Disc 4 include Conde Petie, Oeilvert, Esto Gaza, the Mountain Path, the Desert Empress, Iifa (the ground entrance), the Evil Forest, the windmill near Dali, Pinnacle Rocks, Fossil Roo, the Ice Caverns, and all the gates on the Mist Continent. Cid's room in the Lindbulm Grand Palace is also closed, though this has nothing to do with Iifa.

The remaining locations offer a few new minor events to take care of:

  • The Pisces Zodiac Coin can be found on the middle floor of the Invincible. Also, talking to Garnet starts an automated conversation between her and Zidane.
  • Talking to Black Mage #288 and Mikoto in Black Mage Village triggers a pair of brief scenes.
  • One final scene can be found by returning to the clock tower in Lindbulm.
  • The weapon shop in Treno is stocked with yet another new monster, a Behemoth. Equip Steiner with Eternal Haste and send him in to fight it; you shouldn't have too much trouble defeating it, though you might need to use an Elixir or two to heal yourself. You'll receive a Circlet for winning the battle.
  • The woman that always kicked you out of her house in Dali will finally let you in. If you climb up the ladder in the back of the room and search the bookcase, you'll find a Mini-Brahne action figure, which is an apparently useless Key Item.
  • Lonnie has now taken up residence in Madain Sari, on the waterfall screen. She won't actually talk to you, but you can play QuadMist with her by hitting Square. She's got a lot of powerful cards, including Odin. Once you take the Odin card, however, she won't play with you anymore -- instead, she'll jump away when you approach her.
  • Stiltskin has surfaced in the Alexandria church. This time, he's hocking a Moonstone, Ruby, and Elixir for 5555 gil.
  • The Moogle couple inside Gizamaluke's Grotto will reward you with Alpha Shiyatsu (Shirt?) armor if you go talk to them once more. Also, there's now a vine in the background of the room (at least it didn't seem to be there before...); if you climb up it, you'll end up on a cliff on the world map where you can fight Garudas and some other non-standard enemies. This doesn't seem to have any point.
  • If you've got a Sea Chocobo, you can dive into the water where the portal to Terra used to be for the Maximillian armor, the Invincible Card, and the Ultima Weapon, the strongest weapon in the game. (It's for Zidane.) See the Chocograph List for the exact location.
