ITEMS TO GET: 20007 gil, Elixir, ? Hat, Cherubina ?, Battle Boots

   Head northeast back through the halls until you find the rest of the party. You can put together a new team; you'll probably want to include Quina since he can learn a couple of new skills (Twister from the Abadons and, of course, Bad Breath from the Molbols), and is also quite useful against the boss. The Moogle here can sell you items (fourth option) and change your party (fifth option).

   Continue northeast from the Moogle to the throne room. Search the throne for a piece of headgear, then turn around and go southwest until you get to a big square room. Search the apparatus on the north wall and choose the first option to start a timer. You now have to exit through the lower-left door while the timer is still running -- but if you approach any of the lit torches, a fight will start and you won't be able to make it in time. To navigat the maze, head two torches south and wait for the torch below you to extinguish. Run down and head left one torch in the bottom row. Wait for the flame ahead of you to die down, then quickly run out the exit.

   If you made it in time, a phantasmal staircase will be waiting for you. (If not, go back and try again!) Climb up and follow the straightforward path until you reach a ribcage-like device. Examine it, then cancel out of the menu and go forward to the next screen. Walk up to the first ledge and try to get on the elevator; you'll be repelled by a beam. Go back to the ribcage screen; the four characters you're not using should arrive. They'll control the elevator while Zidane's team proceeds into the dungeon.

   Use Select to switch over to the control team and set the elevator switch to 4 -- a little image of the elevator will turn as you do. If the little knob at the end of the elevator is pointed towards the boarding platform, Zidane's team will be able to get on the elevator. At position 4, you'll be able to step on the elevator from the lowest platform. Ride it up until it stops, then run up to the top of the looping staircase. There's two boarding platforms here; set the elevator to 3 and get the closest one to reach a chest with 20,007 gil. Ride back down and change the elevator to position 4. Board the elevator.

   The elevator stops in the center of a maze of teleporters, and the A.T.E. icon disappears. Step into the teleporter on the right side of the screen; you can reach it from the upper-right pathway. It warps you to a different screen. The transporter in the lower-left of this platform leads to a chest with Cherubina armor, while the one in the upper-right leads to an Elixir. (Ignore the one in the upper-left; it doesn't lead anywhere useful.) Grab both items, then return to the main area.

   This time, take the lower-left teleporter, reached from the bottom path. On the next screen, head right and take the teleporter in the lower-right. Warp through the next teleporter to a reach a chest with Battle Boots, then head two teleporters back. Use the upper-right teleporter on this ledge, then warp through the next ledge.

   Talk to the Moogle; you can't buy items from him, but you can change characters. Eiko and Quina are both good choices for the upcoming sequence; you'll also want to use the anti-Stop ability on as many characters as you can. Also check MOGNET to complete the quest you received back in Bran Bal. Heal and save your game, then exit stage right. The Moogle will ask you if you really want to continue; choose the first option.
