As earlier rumored, Sega has revamped Skies of Arcadia's character designs, abandoning the earlier realistic designs in favor of brighter, more anime-style characters. Also new are the game's requisite animal sidekick (Qpil), and a mysterious NPC named Dain.

   In addition to Vyse, Aika, Fina, and Qpil, five other yet-to-be-revealed major characters will be included in the game; expect further details on them soon.
