Well, it's good to be back. I took a break, hoping that the time off would give me a chance to fix some of the messed up stuff going on in the rest of my life, and well... it didn't work. So I figured I might as well come on back, since not doing Sketch Artist duty didn't seem to have any positive effects on my situation. So here I am doing an update, and I realize - suddenly I'm not feeling so bad. Sketch Artist - good to look at, and good for you, too!
And of course, I've got to thank Fritz for doing a great job in my absence, and implementing the game galleries fully. But just a reminder, any submissions should now be sent to andrea@thegia.com, as well as any questions or comments you may have about the section, cause Fritz is a busy guy. ;)
Now, on to the good stuff - there are already a whole bunch of new faces in the galleries since I began my little vacation, and today brings even more. Darkenedknight and Nelson Ta both contribute some very well-composed FFVII artwork, "Cloud and Tifa" and "Montage", respectively. Edison Yan gives us two extremely impressive FFVIII pictures, "Rinoa" and "Shiva". Ryan Piatak's Lunar: The Silver Star pic, "Death of a Friend," doesn't contain the spoiler that the title implies in the picture itself, but in the commentary, so enjoy the marvelous detail, but scroll all the way to the bottom at your own risk... Kristen Smirnov has contributed pics from some lesser-recognized games, with "Wild Spanish Rose" from Uncharted Waters: New Horizons, and "Showing the Latest Spring Fashions..." from Dragon Quest IV, which does bring up an interesting point: Why would anyone use a bikini as armor?
With all the new artists, a few longtime contributors: Laura's exquisite talents surface this time in "Claude C. Kenni", of Star Ocean: The Second Story. Petra Rödig's "Holidays at Costa Del Sol" is a bit overdue in being posted... I hung onto it for awhile, thinking I'd be back sooner than I actually was. Oops. And, er, I posted a little something of my own, too, at the request of others on staff. Well, it's part Pokémon, and there's a Sailor Moon RPG in Japan, so I guess it's justified... I hope.
