Like my other pieces of late, this one began as just a little idea sketched. I went through three drafts and I'm still wondering whether the pose is accurate...
Squall himself is an ambiguous character (due in part to the fact that I have been avoiding most FFVIII reading material ;-p)... He seemed an interesting subject however, primarily because his aloof demeanor contrasts so sharply with glimpses of a fiery temper.
Again in this piece, there is little left attesting to what was the "original" scanned image... I am pleased with the turnout, but I concede that I could have gone for different results... Though in particular I think the partial desaturation makes for a nice metaphorical effect... or something... ;-) Oh, and yes, I am aware of the scar misplacement; allow me to chalk this one up to interpretation, ok? :-)
