Like the other GIA Interact editor, my life's taken a huge nosedive in the past week. But since she already said it so nicely, I'll just apologize for the lateness and take advantage of my frustration to address an issue that's been bugging me for awhile...
Please, when submitting artwork, do check to see how large the file you're sending is. In the past few weeks, I have gotten several pictures that are over a meg in filesize, and something like 3000x2000 pixels in dimension. Unless you have a huge, huge mural with lots of detail in every available inch, it is not necessary to send something so large. When the picture has a bunch of white space all around it, and was drawn on a normal sized sheet of drawing paper, it's just ridiculous to keep it that large, especially since most people won't even be able to view a quarter of something that size on their screen at once. So please, for viewers' sakes and the sake of my poor little 28.8 modem which I'm still stuck with, try to keep file sizes under 1000 pixels square and under half a meg unless there's a good reason. This resizing can be done with nearly any graphics editing program, and doesn't take very long.
Anyhow, aside from that little public service announcement, lots of fun stuff in SA this week. Sorry about it being a couple days late, and I hope you all enjoy.
