Source of inspiration? A really impressive monochrome fanart of Squall (it's called "Loner", methinks), that motivated me to try and work with just shades of one color. It also showed Squall in a rather romantic light (reclusive, somewhat sad...well, you know the scheme), so I tried to do something different (i.e. put an emphasis on those traits of character that he shows in battle as well as his will to fight. "Cradles are gone, the peaceful sleep is over", ne?) As a result he looks somewhat mad ^_^;, but I like that sketchlike feel of the whole picture and the way pencil shows through almost-real watercolors ^^ If you're curious, the most diffucult part to draw was the fur collar and the gunblade.
