Captured from the Sony PlayStation Festival 2000, these latest Dark Cloud movies offer a look at Sony's RPG in a form significantly more developed than seen in previous clips. Dark Cloud's visuals appear to be extremely fluid and detailed -- in the third movie, notice how detail stays consistently crisp while the camera moves through a room and zooms in on a book lying on a table. Overall, the game's graphical style appears to resemble Sega's Time Stalkers (a.k.a. Climax Landers).
Additionally, the first movie seems to depict Dark Cloud's battle system. The main character wanders through a dungeon before engaging an armed skeleton in battle. When the screen shifts into battle, a bar with required button presses overlaps the up close one-on-one combat action, requiring the player to hit various buttons at specific times, a-la PaRappa the Rapper. It's not certain whether or not this is a requirement for victory, or simply a "beginner's mode" suggestion for combat strategy.
