Generic idealistic young swordsman Faz heads Hoshigami's cast; he's described as being "optimistic," "loyal," "a natural leader," and "cloned from 200 other identical RPG heroes." Early in the game, Faz meets his second companion, the boomerang-wielding Mysterious Girl. The Mysterious Girl is fleeing from the bandit, Jacqueline, that pursues her.

   Other characters include Faz's best friend Raymarie -- whose spear-throwing skills and intuition make up for his generally quiet nature -- and a cheerful young girl named Tin.
