Japan's Weekly Famitsu magazine is already printing advertisements for Chrono Cross, a title Square will be sure to hype as its winter release approaches. Three ads in series push the game, starting with a sketch of Serge's home island and text which reads "In Spring 1995, we crossed time and space." The second page offers a brand new sketch of Kid, Serge's primary companion in his quest, who appears to pouting. The text reads "In Winter 1999, we'll cross dimensions." The final page is a reproduction of Square's earlier promotional poster with the text "A Chrono to surpass Chrono is coming!" (The slogan is also seen on Square's Chrono Cross homepage.)
