While Alundra 2 was conspicuously absent from the Tokyo Game Show floor, free demos of the game were handed out showgoers to try at their own leisure. The move may have unintentionally been a blessing in disguise -- the first half of the demo is terribly underwhelming, but the second half picks up with much more varied environments, voiced, real-time polygonal cut-scenes, and a mini-game where our hero must dash and jump a-la Indiana Jones in order to avoid a large, rolling foe behind him.

We'll save our full impressions (and movies) for later -- for now, 58 screen shots from the demo are available. The first page of shots mostly contains blurry captures from the promo movie at the intro, while the remaining pages of screens are taken from the demo itself. Contrail's latest RPG is scheduled for a November 18th release in Japan, and while no US release is confirmed, Activision is a strong possibility for localization.
