Quest 27 Summer Lovin' More quests

Prerequisites: AF Torch of Coral

Use the Torch of Coral in Landmake to put Madora Beach on the map. The first time you enter, you'll meet two Pirate Penguins, David and Valerie, and receive the quest "Summer Lovin'." Once the penguins depart, you'll be able to move, and can race around trying to crush as many as crabs as you can before they escape. (Crushing the crabs, as you'll soon seen, is a challenge but one not required to finish the quest.)

Follow the penguins to the east, fighting all the monsters, until you reach a cave entrance. Enter and smash all the crabs that you can. Take the southeast entrance from the screen and proceed through several more screens until you reach another crab room. Go on the usual rampage here. You can now either take the northeast exit to a beach where you can catch eggs and elemental spirits, or just proceed northwest towards the boss. Head west across Prince Beach to another cave with the final set of crabs. Take the south exit from this crab room to the boss: Fullmetal Haggar, straight from Seiken Densetsu 3.

The crab-like entity can jump around; fortunately, you can see its shadow and get out of the way. It also has a wide-range laser; when you see its eyes glowing, moving to its side. X button attacks are your best against it. When Fullmetal Haggar is defeated, you'll be taken to a beach just northwest of the last crab room, where Valerie will reward you with an Artifact (probably the Rusty Anchor) or a metal.

If you return to Madora Beach after completing the quest, you can try your hand at crab-smashing again. The crab on the beach where Valerie was will tell you many crabs you stepped on (out of 30), then kick you back to the world map. Good luck smashing them all; they're hard to catch!

Cactus Diary:
"Clobbering crabs at the beach! That sounds like fun, but I feel bad for the crabs. Surprise lesson of the day: penguins can fall in love!"
