| would the stars cry
[01.23.01] » by ScaRRIn loving memory
of Aeris Gainsborough, true saviour of the
Planet,
 your innocence, faith,
and immense courage
 will touch the lives
of its people,
 forever.
 would the stars
cry
grieve.by ScaRR

 Would the stars cry
 Tear glistening rays
in grief
 And weep?
 And shimmer dolefully
 Upon the placid lake
 Where she was forlornly
laid
 To sleep?

 Would the Planet mourn
 Croon in misery
 And moan in sorrow
 For the loss of a
godsend?
 Aggrieved voices dirge
 Heartbroken
 For a ravaged wound
that would never mend.

 It laments in despair
 Pines for her soothing
calm
 Yearning in melancholy
nostalgia
 Sadly reminiscent
 Of her angelic charm.

 Longing to see her
sweet smile again
 To once more hear
her gentle voice
 Each woeful day was
crystal clear
 As the shattered moment
she made her choice.

 She chose her cruel
twist of fate
 And embraced her star-crossed
destiny
 Bequeathing a noble
sacrifice
 Knowing there was
no other way
 Unafraid to give her
life.

 Accepting harsh reality
 With innocent hope
 Banishing malfeasance
in heartfelt faith
 Undaunted by adversity
 Dowering more than
she could cope.

 She unleashed her
bravest fight
 In her struggle to
save mankind
 And her battle for
deliverance against evil
 Fearless in the face
of peril
 Audaciously refusing
to be oppressed
 By foreordination's
harsh grind.

 She shone in glorified
radiance
 And remains resplendent
still
 Undoing wrong with
courageous right
 Beaming with untarnished
love
 She shines
 Forever…
 Heaven's beacon of
light

 The merciless sword
plunged in through her…
 And yet
 She felt no pain.
 The sparkling emeralds
gradually dim
 Never to twinkle again.

 Time may heal the
pain…
 But the gushing hurt
 Never ceases.
 A heroine lost is
painfully unforgettable
 The wretchedness only
increases.

 Why did you leave,
Aeris?
 Where did you go
 The world is silently
deploring
 Your revered comrades
miss you so…

 But it is too late
 For regret
 Too late for remorseful
contrition
 And too late to save
her now…
 Tears are shed endlessly
 But crying won't bring
her back anyhow…

 Rest soundly in peace
 Beloved angel,
 Unveil your wings
and fly…
 Your body may never
rise again
 But in the hearts
of the people
 And in the memory
of the Planet…
 You never died.

 First attempt at fanfiction.
Inspired from this ugly, slimy, big-eared troll otherwise known as a history
teacher, a dreary lesson on The Anglo-Dutch Treaty, and a desperate resort
to keep from falling asleep.
