Wasted Future
[04.19.00] » by Nightsong
The wastes of 2300...
Darkness and ruins
abound
All around has been
destroyed
Nothing will grow
Except the dreaded
mutants
The human race is
next to gone
There are but a
handful on the planet
And even those are
destroyed
Destroyed one after
the other
Thanks to the
cold-hearted robots.
Lavos has left this
dead planet
Has left it an empty
husk
Left his children
behind to pull what little they can
But trust me, it
isn't much
In this cursed world
All are dying
Abandoned by their
God
Or so they would
think.
Perhaps it is so
For after all, these
peoples befriended Lavos
Lavos, the great
destroyer
Dark lord of fire
And those who deal
with him are eternally cursed.
Thrice did this dark
one change history
Even as he landed, he
destroyed a race
Even as he landed, he
snuffed out the sun
A sun which stayed
out for millions of years
A thousand thousand
lifetimes
All left in the
bitter cold.
Then, he ripped apart
Zeal
The floating
continent
Because they sought
to worship him
But Lavos did not
think the humans
These so called
"Enlightened"
Worthy of him.
Not of his dark evil
Not of his insane
majesty.
And so he destroyed
them.
Thousands of his
followers wiped out
All he left was an
evil omen,
Floating in the sky.
An omen of a dark future
A future soon to
come.
Surely enough, in
14000 years
Merely a twinkling of
an eye for the dark one
He once again ripped
apart the world with his purging flame
But this time,
nothing grew back.
This time, there
weren't thousands of survivors
This time, only a
handful made it through the darkness.
And many died in the
cold dawn that came after.
These humans had
worshipped a devil
And had finally
received their reward.
