Characters in Phantasy Star Online can choose from three different classes: the saber- and slicer-wielding Hunter, the gun-wielding Ranger, or the magic-wielding Force. Each character also belongs to one of three races (Human, Numan, or Android), allowing for nine different character types. However, it seems that Androids cannot assume the Force class; instead, there are two different Numan Forces.

   Below are the Human Force, one of the Numan Forces, Android Hunter, Android Ranger, and Numan Ranger, respectively. The Human Hunter, Numan Hunter, Human Ranger, and the other Numan Force can be found in the previous set of character designs.
