After i finished playing ff8, i was just itching for an excuse to draw a good picture of Squall, and with all the monthly art sites running around, it didn't take long for me to find my excuse!
With this picture, I had decided early on not to include Rinoa. So with that large element of romance absent, I focused instead on Squall's 'warrior' side. Therefore, it made sense to make Griever a part of the motif. The word 'Lionheart' is a reference to Squall's ultimate gunblade and Limit Break, NOT Squall's last name(which is 'Leonhart'). I considered drawing the Lionheart version of the Gunblade, but decided to stick with the basic Revolver/Shear Trigger since it was more recognizable.
I abused Photoshope's filters a little on this one. The lensflare is kinda cheesy i know... and the painted look for the background was very little of my own work :) Still, gotta love those filters!
