Artist's Commentary
This is my first submission here. This Piece was inspired from the ending
theme to one of my current favorite Anime series, Love Hina. However, the
main purpose for drawing this was to practice tracing lines on my new wacom
tablet. Since Marle (bottom left) looks so similar to Leene (bottom right), I
decided to draw her without the ponytail in order to tell them apart. As for
Ayla, well, lets just say she had a little too much of that Prehistoric soup
(poor Schala!). Rather then draw the usual backgrounds from the world of CT,
I decided to have some fun this time and place the characters in a
traditional Japanese style home. The entire image, which by the way was
scanned at a whopping 400 dpi, took about one week to finish, with about half
of that time spent creating the lines. Despite several errors on the
characters (which I always seem to detect after I've completed an image),
overall, I'm pretty satisfied with this piece.
