Artist's Commentary
This is just a picture of Kid showing off some pilfered swag;
the pose gives that "rubbing it in" feeling, I think :)
My main priority for this image was accuracy--meaning that I tried to
recapture all elements of the original design including Kid's age.
The thing that stands out most for me in this picture is the color. It had
been years since I tried to take a colored pencil to a character, and this
was my triumph over self-doubt :) The scan quality doesn't do the original
rendering justice, for the flesh tones were "warped" somewhat, but oh well
;> Plus, I just wish I knew what to do for a background. Otherwise, I
really do love this image.
Comments and general feedback are more than welcome. In the future, I plan
to make a picture that better captures the "Aussiness" of Kid's
personality--OI!!!
