Artist's Commentary
I'll always regard this as one of my all-time
favourite artworks...simply because I spent so much
time to finish it. It depicts what I imagine would
transpire in Suikoden 2...what would a victory
celebration look like in the capital of Highland? It
must have a dance of course!! I actually listened to a
track from Lord of the Dance (it's called Cry of the
Celts, if I'm not mistaken) throughout the whole
production of this piece so that the atmosphere of
furious dancing would linger in my mind.
Some have remarked appreciation for my depiction of
the Highland Generals, namely Culgan (far left) and
Seed (middle). They also found the man on the far
right attractive --- but they recoil in terror as soon
as they find out that THAT MAN is the psychotic,
pyromaniac Prince Luca Blight. Hey, he can't wear
full-plate armor ALL THE TIME, can he?
