Artist's Commentary
This one is interesting, I think. It's Meilin's past, when Louran was burnt down and her parents and friends killed. The shock opens up a new world for the young girl; the power to create mirages. She uses it to shield herself from the horrors of the real world.
Look at this picture and know - Meilin is not the brat she appears to be. She is actually a victim. The last victim.
It turned out really dark, which was perfect for the mood I wanted to convey.
