Artist's Commentary
Hi again! This little piece was inspired by Final fantasy 3 and beautiful sunsets from my home village. My obsession with cats, hoods, and cat hoods also had something to do with it. It's a shame that a great game such as Final fantasy 3 never left its home country. In my oppinion it has got a great storyline, unique classes (never again seen scholars and vikings) and incredible music despite it's 8-bit range. Who cannot help but fall in love with masterpieces such as Dorga's house, Village theme, and Voyage! The little white mage sitting on the roof of a small house is perhaps the way I'd like to experience life...Fighting for the world with dear unforgettable friends, and enjoying the beauty of nature during our breaks. The high white mage (the one with cat ears) is one of my favorite classes in the series (only again seen in Final fantasy 5 by Krile). It was the ideal character to be gazing into this late autumn sunset, absolutely! This fanart was not too difficult in the making, but I'm not compleatly satisfied with the result. I regret that the sunset didn't turn out the way I wanted and I wonder if it was wrong to let snow be a mayor element in this drawing. Otherwise I still like the combination of colors and the fact that I let the motive be the highlands of the Salonian regions (a surrounding without any importance what so ever to the storyline, but still letting it be a place from the game) made me happy. This dedication goes to all of you japanese who actually got to experience Final fantasy 3 in its best (with a manual and all), and the pleasure of knowing the heroes' real names. You can expect to see more fanart >from the more early final fantasies from this artist. See ya!
