Artist's Commentary
Fellow artists, I give you this older piece. It's about one year old and even if the result is more similar to a sketch rather than a complete drawing, believe it or not--it's finished! Not all of my submissions will be colorful or inked, because in my mind some fanarts don't bring the same effect or sensation when furthur handled. I'm really satisfied with the outcoming. Her hand and her face along with her facial expression is something of the best I've ever done so far. I know that it's not perfect in every aspect, but I feel that if I would erase some lines trying to perfect something, I would lose a certain feeling that is now obtained in this picture. My interpretation of the princess of Wyndia gives you a slight touch of her emotions as a princess, a daughter, a fellow companion and a human being. "She liked being a princess, sure she did. Taking care of her parents, helping her people but maybe there was something missing...And even after joining her friends for a second time as a young woman there was still something missing. Sure she had Momo to talk to, actually she had no problems talking open hearted with any of her companions. Still there was this feeling...of lonelyness. She felt so helpless and insecure in this evil world, despite her magic abilities..." These are thoughts that run through my mind when I look at this work of art. Dedications goes to all of you players who think that the Breath of Fire series is just as good as, or even better than the Final fantasy series. I don't. I think the storyline lacks something, but I just love those awesome characters! They're absolutely stunning! Even though I'm not completely satisfied with the work of Capcom I still hope that the sequel will take this fairy tale to new heights, because I'm definitely going to purchase the fourth Breath of Fire. More Breath of Fire art on the way! You betcha!!
