Artist's Commentary
I decided to draw one of the GFs in Final Fantasy VIII, and for fun I also added Selphie to the mix. She has such an interesting hairstyle. The reason I picked Shiva of all the GFs is for two reasons: 1) she is one of the oldest and most constant summons in the Final Fantasy series and 2) through coincidence she was the GF that I always combined with Selphie, so the two became synonymous in my mind. This was done with watercolors, which is a new medium for me. And, because the colors were so faint that my scanner wasn't picking them up, I played around a bit with the "Brightness/Contrast" on my Photoshop program.
