Sydney Artist: Merc the Wanderer Media: Colored pencil, pen Artist's Commentary A friend of mine asked me to draw a picture of Sydney, but I'm not sure if I got the right one... she asked me to portray "his happier, romantic, and introspective side, as he is usually depicted in a harsher, more grim light"; hence the roses. At first I was going for realism, but I had difficulty finding pictures with the level of detail I wanted, so the close-up is delibratly sparse and the lines smoother and less natural.
