This album is notable for being, along with R.E.M.'s "Green", the first CD I ever bought. A friend of mine in junior high was selling bits of his collection, and I'd heard good things about both artists, so I decided to give them a try. This album is further notable for being, all these years later, the one I've owned longest without ever listening to all the way through. It didn't take long to discover how little Tom Petty does for me, but I can't go around selling important milestones like my first album.
