I like this album mostly because Toad the Wet Sprocket is so earnest here. There's a lot of cynicism and and irony in music, which can be good, but sometimes it gets a bit much. So it's refreshing to hear songs that you can take absolutely at face value, because they just don't mean anything else. The only downside is that the musicianship and vocals are a bit generic, so I don't listen to this very often. Pleasant, though. "Stories I Tell" was one of my favorite songs for a while back when I was just getting into music.
