This is the quietest Sleater-Kinney album, and that isn't a bad thing. It was certainly good for me, considering that this happened to be the first of their albums that I bought. It does take time to get acclimated to Corin Tucker's voice, and since it's toned down a bit on this album, it was a nice place to do so before I tried some of their other stuff. This also has some nice playing around with lyrics: "Burn, Don't Freeze!" has, rather than a lead vocal and a background vocal, what sounds like two lead vocals fighting for dominance.
