Much as I love Shonen Knife, this album is all the answer anyone needs to the question "How can a collection of good songs not be a good album?" It starts strong with "Quavers" and ends strong with "Cobra Versus Mongoose" and "Music Square" but never tries, and certainly never succeeds, to form a cohesive whole in between. Though it must be said that when I'm in exactly the right mood, this strikes me as one of Shonen Knife's best--it's a pretty good showcase of everything they can do. The rest of the time, though, I just skip tracks 2 through 9 inclusive.
